Evolving leadership
Founded in 2017 by proactive women from the business and public sectors, the Association "Lyderė" unites over 350 top-level executives and experts committed to creating a society free from gender stereotypes and empowering women in leadership.

Gender balance in leadership positions
While women make up the majority of employees in the Lithuanian public sector, they are significantly fewer in management positions. In large private companies, the situation is even more complex - only 12% of board members and managers are women.

Equal pay for women and men
Despite the academic achievements of Lithuanian women and their active participation in the labour market, gender inequalities remain an issue both at work and at home. Women earn on average 14% less than men, a gap that cannot be explained in objective terms alone.

Favorable conditions for balancing family and career
Lithuania still lacks a sufficient and affordable supply of formal childcare services to help women return to the labour market sooner. Early reintegration contributes to the country's sustainable socio-economic development.

Education system favorable to gender equality
Women in Lithuania are more likely than men to complete university education (60% vs. 40%), to participate in lifelong learning (28% vs. 20%) and to have a higher share of university students - 59% (2023-2024 data).
