The platform is aimed at business owners and managers who are in search of a board member and want to expand the list of candidates. The platform will allow you to find a professional with the right experience, both in terms of competencies and in the sector. Since the inception of the initiative, we have included many experienced business women with top-level leadership and board experience in the database.
This database is constantly updated - both by receiving and evaluating professional requests and by the initiative team proactively searching for women with relevant experience and inviting them to join the platform. The initiative continuously promotes the community of candidates on the platform and organizes internal meetings-breakfasts on a quarterly basis, during which there is a discussion of topics related to the invited guest and the role of a board member.
Lithuania's progress and challenges in the EU context
Lithuania's position on women's boards in 2021 looked quite dynamic, but in recent years the changes have slowed down. The European Union Centre of Excellence for Gender Equality measures the situation according to the proportion of women on boards in the largest listed companies in Lithuania. In 2023, 25% of board members in these companies were women in Lithuania, so we are in a position where the EU average was in 2017. Currently, the European Union average is 33% and Lithuania is only 19 out of 27 countries. As a country we need to move forward and learn to empower the country's top professionals and their expertise.

Join the LEADERBOARD platform
We invite top managers and business owners to become members of the Board. If you would like to join our platform as a professional, please fill out the registration form below. In it, describe in detail your competencies and share your experience. Also attach a short cover letter and referral contacts.
Frequently Asked Questions
“Leader in the Boards” is a joint initiative of the association “Lyderė” and the Lithuanian Private and Venture Capital Association. The Speaker of the Seimas, Viktorija Čmilytė-Nielsen is the patron of this initiative.
The goal of “Leaders in Boards” is to contribute to the formation of diverse boards in companies by introducing women with top management and board experience. This list is constantly updated and supplemented.
Senior managers with board experience are welcome to fill in registration form, in which we ask you to describe in detail your competencies, accumulated experience and professional knowledge. Please also include a cover letter and referral contacts in the registration form.
The registration form will be evaluated by our board and the decision taken will be sent to the contact email you specified.
To gain access, in the access form enter your email address (company e-mail address) and then you will receive confirmation with access to our board candidate list. This access is free. Once confirmed, you will be able to directly contact the eligible candidates yourself, according to the contact information provided on the platform.
Each of our candidates is ready to seriously consider your proposals for joining the board and make a valuable contribution to the success of your business.
Leaders on Boards does not provide mentorship programs for women seeking board positions. However, we invite you to join the association “Leader”, which contributes to the empowerment of women for leadership and builds a community of inspiring professionals.
The Platform provides its members with the opportunity to participate in organized quarterly internal meetings-breakfasts, during which there is a discussion with the invited guest on topics related to the role of board member and board member.
Access is given to a constantly updated list of board members in various fields, giving the opportunity to establish new professional contacts.
Leaders in Boards creates a community of women professionals that promotes and supports careers on corporate boards.
